The Value of Hard Work

When the founders wrote about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, they didn’t mean longer vacations and more comfortable hammocks. They meant the pursuit of learning. The pursuit of improvement and excellence.
In hard work is happiness.

–David McCullough, interviewed last year in Harvard Business Review.

  1. McCullough is excellent. Can’t even count the number of books I’ve read by him. He’s one of the contributors to “The Roosevelts” documentary series on TV which my wife has been recording for me. George Will is on there also. McCullough has it all over Will. No comparison.

  2. That’s also on my “Watch after Knowledge Management” list! 🙂 Have you seen the John Adams HBO movie? One of the MRC staff members was an extra on that one (also still, sadly, on my list).
